Help the Haven: Donate unused jewelry to the “Melting Project!”

Look through your jewelry boxes, pull out those pieces you no longer wear, and donate them to the Haven. Bring them to Designer Gold in Hanover – we’ll send them to our refiner who will melt them down and send the Haven a check for 100% of the refined value. Let’s see how big a check we all can send the Haven for Thanksgiving!

Here’s the best part: your precious metal will bring the most money it can for the Haven this way. If you sold your gold to any of the local stores who advertise buying gold and platinum, you would realize only 18 to 75% of what our refiner will send to the Haven for you.

If everyone in the Upper Valley brought in one single earring or an old charm or a broken chain, together we could donate a huge amount to those who really need us at the holiday time.

A piece of gold or platinum taken out of a ring you had resized
A broken catch from a necklace
A bangle bracelet that no longer fits
Anything made of white or yellow gold or platinum

Designer Gold is just the collection point. Bring in your unwanted jewelry from now until November 19. That will give us time to get the precious metal refined for Thanksgiving.

We had a wonderful Trunk Show of Jayne Redman’s jewelry, June 4th-19th. Although much of the jewelry went home with Jayne on the 20th, we still have a nice selection of her pieces in the store.

This was our first time at the Hanover Inn Bridal Show, March 21, 2010. Carris and Jordan had an opportunity to speak to many prospective brides about Designer Gold’s creation of individual engagement rings and matching wedding bands.

We are thrilled to announce that this necklace and matching earrings were sold at Christmastime and that the combined total of the two pieces, $3,660, went directly to WISE.
